North / Central Florida 2005
I just got back from a week long Florida trip with Justin Collins (Justinian2120) and our friend Brandon Zimmerman. The trip was definately beyond my expectations. This was probably our first trip to florida solely for herping, and I definately can't complain. We had found a live M. fulvius by teusday, and and even more interesting specimens followed. Among these that I found to be most surprising finds, were Stilosoma extenuatum, and a florida gopher frog. Really, the only unfortunate thing was that it felt like we were finding 3 DORs for every live specimen. And even though pygmies seemed to be plentiful, the only three large crotalus we found (2 canebreak and 1 EDB) were all DOR. I think we must have taken nearly 300 photos so this post is really just a sample.
