North / NJ Pine Barrens 2006
I decided to have a herpetology themed labor day weekend. So, Saturday morning I got into a jeep cherokee with my herpetologicaly inclined associates, Justin M. Collins, and Brandon G. Zimmerman. Starting of at my home in Silver Spring MD, the three of us headed to the Philadelphia Reptile show in King of Prussia, Pensylvania. I have to admit the show was only so so , but J.C. and I did manage to get a whole bunch of old volumes of Copia, for like one dollar an issue. After the mediochre show we were off to the Pine Barons of southern Jersey to spend the night. Sunday and monday ended up being a couple of the best herping days I'd ever found. I'm especially appreciative to Anthony, Bob, and Eitan, for pointing out some great spots and helping with some great finds and some excellent photo opportunities. Below is a list of species we encountered as well as some pictures of a few of them.
