Mankind's Instinctual Heirarchy
-The Non-Participant
The non-participant is generally aware at a relatively young age, of the caste system that exists amongst groups that society lumps together as peirs. Peirs for my purpose may be all students in the same 3rd grade class or salesmen working in the same Department of a retail store. The non-participant finding something dishonest or unequitable about a caste system usually decides not to participate and hence they are the non-participant. I like to put the non-participants in two general groups. The celebrity and the alien.
-The Celebrity Non-participant
The celebrity is usually regarded as said because they are an individual. They do things their own way and give little concern as to what others might think. The celebrity maintan's friendly yet indifferent relationships with everyone. The celebrity is often regarded as an alpha but is quite different in that they have had no ambition to aquire the celebrity status that others have bestowed upon them.
-The Alien Non-participant
The Alien is essentially the same person as the celebrity however they find themselves in an environment where they are not so well recieved. Later in life the alein may find themselves in a situation where they become the celebrity. Alternatively the celebrity may later find themselves in a position where they become aleinated. Their unconventional behavior is often met with great hostility by the alphas and betas, who confuse the aliens resistance to participation with an inability to participate. The alien is generally regarded as an omega by the alphas and betas.
-The Omega
The omega suffers from a complete lack of confidence and beleives themself to be physically weak, mentaly inferior, and unfit for the company of the average. Themself being below average is therefore unworthy. What seems to occur is that when the celebrity non-participant persona befriends the omega is that initially, the omega re-evaluates their self worth hoping that in some way they have raised their position in the heirarchy. However eventually what begins to happen is that eventually The Omega, although consciously thinking their position to be elevated, begins to feel that not only are they deluding theirselves as to their own position but they are re-evaluating the celebrity esque properties of their friend the non-participant. Initially they perceived the celebrity to be an alpha, but their nature as an omega prevents them from not only seeing their own potential, but also prevents them from seeing the nonconformist as the celebrity persona they were once perceived as by the general collective. Surely, if they have not changed at all then they most definately must still be quite inferior, and additionally anyone who might befriend them must also be an omega by association. It is for this reason that often either class of non-participant will surround themselves by omegas. This omega insecurity is essential for the non-participant. With out out it they would lack the perspective to distinguish themself as a non-participant. The omega will rarely become an alpha as it is against their nature as an omega. It is however quite often the case that the omega, becoming concsiously aware of their social caste elects to become an alien. All participating omegas pretend that they are betas.
-The Beta
It is this group that comprises the majority of the human species. The betas sole purpose in life is to seek out an alpha to follow. The beta is numerous and the alpha is few. It is the beleif of many beta that the position of alpha can't be completely acheived but that it should be ones goal in life to strive to become as close to an alpha as possible. The betas have developed a dicotenous sysytem of ethics where in all actions can be allocated to the categories of right and wrong. They have developed theologies in wich one can assume that the one true alpha is their theological creator/overseer, and in beleiving said they can maintain their arrogance, knowing that no peir may exceed them in exhistential rank. Not all betas are theologically minded and many may, and do follow an alpha of their peirs.
-The Alpha
The strongest, smartest, and often most charismatic. The only thing the alpha is oblivious to is the true nature of the pyramid they sit atop. This is the individual that epidomises what is right. It is their actions that the betas seek to emulate. The alpha generally seeks to be the the only alpha, and feels threatened by those others that betas show admiration for, I.E. other alphas and the celebrity. The alpha is ruler of all they survey and answers only to the authority of that wich they view to be greater than a peir.
-The Knowing Participant
This is the second largest group of people. This group like the non-participant, grew aware of the caste system at a relatively early age and decided to either willingly or un-willingly participate as a means of survival or maintaining a common safety and order in the world. Most non-participants will become knowing participants later in life. This group is the most complex and is comprised of the greatest diversity of thoughts and opinions. They can be aliens or celebrities but more often occupy the same positions as alphas and betas. Often a celebrity non-participant may elect to become an alpha and in doing so becomes a "knowing participant". Non-participants always refer to this as "selling out". Many times a young alien non-participant may come to the realization in middle life that they have become indestinguishable from the betas that they once despised as a youth. Member of the kowing participant group are usually proponents of a more directly democratic society, but not always. Some may favor the exhistence of a controller.
-The Controller
The controller always begins as as a knowing participant. It is when the knowing participant assumes the position of an alpha that he becomes a controller. The controller generally has control of multiple oblivios alphas and is able to exploit the relationships between alphas and betas. A good analogy might be to compare alphas and betas with knights and pawns on the controllers chess board. Many might assume that our worlds political leaders are controllers. I would speculate that the majority of world leaders are simple alphas and their respective controllers hide in temples of worship, and institutions of finance.
